Lesson payment is due in full at the first lesson of each semester unless other arrangements have been made.
Makeup Lessons are only granted for Excused Absences: serious illness, death in the family, family emergency, etc. Unexcused Absences include but aren’t limited to: sports events, school events, homework, birthday parties, forgetting about the lesson, etc. No makeup lessons will be granted for unexcused absences. Only ONE makeup lesson will be granted per semester and makeup lessons will not roll over into other semesters.
Once you register for lessons your spot is held for the entire fifteen week semester. No refunds will be given for student withdrawal except in extreme situations (serious illness, family moves out of town, etc).
Students should practice
ten minutes per day per year that they have been learning the instrument. First year students should practice ten minutes each day. Second year students, twenty minutes each day, etc. It is important to make practice a part of your daily routine. Try to find at least one day a week to do a ‘marathon session’ and practice at least double your normal time.
Students are required and expected to purchase any materials necessary for lessons. This includes lesson books, picks, drum sticks, etc. Drum students should have a way to play along with MP3s at home (iPod, computer, headphones, etc).
We will have lessons every week except for: Labor Day (September 2nd) and Thanksgiving week.
Students should arrive early to lessons to get their instruments out of cases, tune, and warm up before lessons begin.
